A little introduction

Hello! My name is Mykayla Chavarria, and I'm an all-around musician/composer/singer/songwriter/multi instrumentalist. Music is the universal language that can touch everybody's heart. And I believe it's the most powerful art form of expression. 

Since the day I was born, music has been such a huge part of my life. As a young child I was always fascinated by the piano and would often spend hours practicing, determined to improve. Growing up I was mostly self-taught, that led to lots of experimenting which eventually sparked my interest in composing and songwriting. I received some classical training when I was 16, which eventually led to scoring my first film at age 17.

I currently spend my days based in North Texas songwriting, teaching piano, composing scores, and doing cover songs for fun. My dream is to continue writing music until I'm at least 90-years-old, so I guess you could say I have a long ways to go until my dream is fulfilled.

In all seriousness, I can't take credit for any skills or composing abilities that I've gained over the years. I owe it to my family for supporting me every step of the way, I owe it to my mama for teaching me my first piano scale when I was 3, and I owe it to God... The real composer behind my compositions. I'm nothing without Him.
